Information on Music Lessons

We, here at Aum Piano Studio, offer personalised music lessons as per students' age, learning abilities, and musical likes and needs. We also offer support and training for students wishing to appear for international music grade and diploma examinations offered by boards like MTB, Trinity, and ABRSM. Our educational goals as teachers, however, are quite vast and go beyond helping our students with music exams and competitions. We aspire and work hard to train our students in both the skills required on the instrument as well as in all other overall musical skills that any music student should be taught, so they can collaborate better with their fellow musicians, explore more joy alongside performance activities, and establish a creative foothold for themselves in additional areas of music making such as composition, music production, arranging, transcription, and so on.

We are currently offering online one-on-one lessons for piano, electronic keyboard and music theory alone exclusively. Each student is offered a maximum of two lessons per week, with the option to select the lesson duration from between 30 minutes, 45 minutes, and 60 minutes. All new students are offered a maximum of two 30 min trial lessons (pre-paid, Rs. 500/30 minutes for students residing in India and Rs.600/30 minutes for students residing abroad), post which, upon enrolling, the students are required to pay eight lessons' fee upfront, regardless of whether they opt for one or two lessons a week. We also provide our enrolled students with free soft copies of all the needed learning materials as and when the time is right in their learning journey with us.  An important point to note, our lesson fees are exclusive of any exam book/online course purchase, music exam fee and exam certificate shipment costs. This is because taking up music exams is a choice we offer all our students and is not a mandatory part of their music education with us.

For students deciding to not sit for any music exams or competitions, we conduct assessments every four to six months once to ensure that they are consistently progressing in all areas of musical learning at a level and rate that is on par with their exam going peers. These assessments are carried out during the lesson by the teacher itself.
